I don't know all the stats on these vehicles because I'm not a huge SUV guy so please fill me in on what it's making.

Kinja'd!!!

My township gets a lot of really nice brand new cop cars. They just switched over to the ecoboost Fords as well.

The highest-trim Durango puts down about 360HP on 4500lbs. Nothing that impressive. They do have the new 8-speed auto though.

The explorer is getting 365HP, on about 4600 lbs.

The difference is that the latter is the turbocharged 3.5l Ecoboost, while the former has a simpler 5.7l Hemi engine. Both are AWD in all trims, I believe.

Yes since the last time I was in the USA/SF the CHP has switched to Ford SUVs and its hard to pick them out behind you since they are common with civilians and the light bar is so small. But they are easier to see at the side of the road and can't hide its profile so well. Very easy to see them up ahead.

It's a 2 square mile jurisdiction with an overly inflated property value. This is either the Chief's car or one of their detectives cars.

Where in NY are you? We are just starring to get the new Durango's. We've had some Explorers and a couple Taurus.

I bet. I'm on Lake Ontario, pretty much as far as you can get and still be in NY. I like my quietish town though. Yay Oswego County!

My local police department started getting Chargers as the new police cars but they began having a lot of issues with them. So now all new orders are Caprices. Still quite a few Crown Victorias around, though. And Explorers. There's also randomly still a Dodge Intrepid on the force.

That's what I get for using my phone to post. What I meant to say is. I really like the looks of the recent gen Durango. I'd love to see a SRT8 trim level.
